ARTICLE

Obsolete Access Statements
The following statements are predecessors of
Open SQL The keywords of the obsolete access statements are based on the processing statements for internal tables , not on SQL .
The statements listed here are only possible for reasons of downward compatibility and only for database tables whose names begin with "T" and have a maximum of five characters.
  • READ TABLE dbtab

  • LOOP AT dbtab

  • REFRESH itab FROM

  • MODIFY dbtab - obsolete

  • DELETE dbtab - obsolete

  • Note
The MODIFY and DELETE statements listed here overlap the short forms of Open SQL which are also obsolete. Since the keywords MODIFY and DELETE are also in SQL , these statements were transferred to Open SQL
. Only when connected to the VERSION addition, MODIFY and DELETE are not Open SQL statements.
