Data Objects for Numeric Operations

The data types that can be interpreted as numbers are:

Integer

Packed

Floating point

Hexadecimal

XSTRING

Variable-length hexadecimal strings

Character-Type Data Objects , whose content can be converted to a number at runtime.

Numeric literals are always numeric. Character literals and text elements are numeric, if their content can be converted to a number.
