Introduction
SAP development is becoming a bi-lingual development platform allowing solutions to be created
in either ABAP or JAVA based on individual merits. Therefore I feel JAVA is become a very powerful
tool for developing SAP applications and although ABAP or Java can be used I feel Java will gradually
become the SAP development language of choice, especially with regards to WEB development. It is
therefore essential as an ABAP programmer to at least familiarize yourself with the basics and start
to develop simple Java applications. SAP themselves are now providing Java courses, JA100 being the
first place to start teaching the object orientated concepts of Java and how to implement these using
Java code.
